camp

Today on Monday 12 of March 2012 I came to the yr 7&8 did activitys like food prep, boxing and kayaking. The first activity we did was food prep and we made the worst(best) scones ever and it was nice. after that we did kayaking and i was waiting for the bombing Then we started doing boxing. It was hard to punch because we had to do it alot. The last thing we did was going to the pools, then we had a shower, got changed and went back to school to get ready for movie night. At 9:00pm we got ready for movie night so we got our sleeping bag and went to the street to watch gifted hands.When the movie finished we went to bed and everyone went quiet.

the next day Mrs Nua shout hidyhii campers, and we shouted hidyhoo and we got up to do the fitness on the field

Camp TC

Day one:
The first day I went to camp I felt butterflies in my stomach. When we started camp we went to play with Mr Harris. We were playing these cool but weird name games, but they are pretty fun to play. One of the games that we played were like dodgeball but with tennisballs but its fun.


Then we went to go play with Mr Barks and we were playing teamwork and strategy games and then the first game we played was this game with this tyre and a pole. The strategy of this game was to put the tyre under the pole then we had to find a way to get the tyre off the pole without making the pole turn sideways. Then we started to get the hang of it and we had a good plan on that day. The plan that we had was succsessful, we did it in under four seconds.


That is cool. Next we did tent making with Mrs Nua. The tent making was really fun, when I was making a tent I was in Tokos team. The first time we built our tent we had broken poles, then when we built the second one we had to put it down because we had the wrong one. Then after that we went to do the hangi prep. When we finished we had to clean up. When we finished that we went to put our gear in the tent, then we went to sleep.

Day two:
The next day we went to Rock Up. It was fun. I was in a team called Random Boyz We had Charm, Zane, Jordan, Tui, Ray, Tyler and me. The first thing that we had to do was rock climbing. I didn’t go because I didn’t want to. Then we tried ski boards, we did it 5 times. It was tiring to have to do that much but we did it. Then we have to go to the dunker. That I think was the funnest thing I’ve ever done. At the dunker we went to go on the top. There is a button that you have to hit with a ball. Once you’ve hit the button with the ball the button pushes the poles inside that activates the board. The board then falls down. The person on the dunker will fall into the cold water.

Then we had to go to the archery. Once we got to the archery we had to listen to the man for instructions. Then we went to give it a go. The first thing we had to do was to do was hold the arrow from the green part. Then we have to put the arrow into the arrow rest. After you’ve done that we have to put the peg bit under the silver part of the bow. Then pull the bow with two fingers and bang.

One of my highlights from camp was the kayaks because it was fun to swim and paddle. Another highlight was Swimarama. I felt happy and suprised that I had gone to camp.
